Model Highlights
If history is any guide, the model variants for the Corvette is certain to grow as the C8 is developed further. For now, the Stingray version is offered in three trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT. The sole powerplant for the Corvette is a direct-injected 6.2L V8 that makes 495 horsepower and 470 lb-feet of torque which Chevrolet claims can push the Corvette to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds. There is only one transmission available: a lightning-quick 8-speed dual clutch transmission from Tremec.
Suspension is handled thanks to a fully independent SLA double wishbone system with forged upper and cast aluminum L-shaped lower control arms dampened with 46mm monotube shocks. Chevy's adaptive Magnetic Ride Control damping system is optional with the Z51 performance package adding fully adjustable control with manually-adjustable threaded spring seats and its Performance Traction Management.
The Corvette is available in either coupe or convertible form. The automatic drop-top can be controlled by either the key fob or a button on the dash at speeds up to 30 mph.
The entry-level 1LT Corvette offers standard 19-inch wheels, LED headlights, power adjustable and heated wing mirrors, 8-way driver and passenger power-adjustable leather seats. A rear-vision camera, cruise control and a tilt/telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel are also included, as is a 10-speaker premium Bose stereo, Bluetooth and Chevrolet's MyLink infotainment 3 system accessible on an 8-inch HD touchscreen. An adjustable Drive Mode Selector is also standard which includes six separate drive settings.
The 2LT adds premium amenities such as heated/ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, blind-spot monitoring, navigation, head-up display, a Rear Camera Monitor, a Performance Data Recorder, 14-speaker Bose audio and wireless phone charging.
Stepping into the 3LT means you'll be offered optional GT2 racing seats wrapped in leather and suede and the option to customize color combinations of the interior. Also added are leather/suede wrapped interior panels, an auto raising front end to avoid speed bumps and potholes and a microfiber suede steering wheel.
Advanced Safety features include rear cross traffic alert, blind zone alert, HD rear vision camera, a front curb view camera, rear park assist and a digital rearview camera.
